What is wedding gown preservation?
Wedding dress preservation is a specialized process that includes professional cleaning and packaging to protect your gown from yellowing, stains and fabric damage over time. This ensures your dress remains in pristine condition for years to come.
How do I start the preservation process?
Simply reach out to us via text, call or our contact form. You can also text or email a picture of your dress, and we'll guide you through the steps and answer any questions you have!
When should I preserve my wedding dress?
It’s best to have your dress professionally cleaned and preserved as soon as possible after your wedding to prevent stain setting and fabric deterioration. However, older dresses can still benefit from preservation. The longer you wait, the greater the risk of damage—stains can set permanently, fabric can begin to yellow and delicate details may deteriorate.
To avoid last-minute stress, plan ahead and budget for preservation just like you would for your other wedding vendors. Taking care of your dress early ensures it stays as beautiful as the day you wore it!
What if my gown has stains or damage?
No problem! Our team specializes in treating stains, repairing minor damages and ensuring your gown is cleaned and preserved to the highest standards. We've been successful in removing every type of stain, including cake, wine, champagne, dirt/mud, spray tan and even blacktop tar!
How do you determine the box size for my dress?
We assess your gown in person during the initial drop-off appointment to determine the best box size for preservation. Factors like length, volume and the number of layers all play a role—the fuller and more detailed the dress, the larger the box needed to ensure proper protection. Our goal is to preserve your gown in a way that maintains its shape and beauty for years to come!
How long does gown preservation take?
On average, the preservation process takes 4–6 weeks depending on the complexity and any special treatments needed. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.
How is my gown packaged after preservation?
Your gown will be carefully and expertly cleaned, preserved and stored in an acid-free preservation box, designed to protect it from light, moisture and yellowing over time.
Can I open the preservation box later?
Of course! We recommend giving your gown some air every few years, and let's be honest- it's a great way to reminisce about your big day! We provide clean, specialized handling gloves to avoid oils transferring to the fabric. With sealed, cardboard box options, opening your box will void your warranty!
Can I wear my dress again after preservation?
Absolutely! If you or a loved one want to wear the dress again, we recommend having it professionally cleaned again through our partner cleaner. We can then re-preserve it for you at an additional cost.
Do you only preserve wedding gowns?
Not at all! We also preserve veils, christening gowns, quinceañera dresses, military uniforms, suits or tuxedos and other cherished garments.
